Hailing from one of the toughest neighborhoods in the city of Chicago, Englewood, Boi fLOYD aimes to create relatable, quality music that promotes positivity even from a dark place. Raised by his beloved grandmother, whom he attributes much of his discipline and passion for people, he felt an obligation to take care of everyone, by any means necessary. It was not until Boi fLOYD experienced a near death encounter and realized he wanted to work to create a better, safer environment for his family to have a chance at a more fulfilling, less risky lifestyle.

From homelessness to hustling, a self-proclaimed visionary, Boi fLOYD delivers music that anyone can feel. His style incorporates real experiences with genuine emotion and a variety of flows to keep you intrigued from start to finish. Some of his influences include Kanye West, Jay-z, Pharrell, Slick Rick, Beanie Sigel, Notorious B.I.G. & many others that Boi fLOYD culminates into his style. Boi fLOYD has recently released a single entitled Maserati Dreams: inspired from the transition of street life to hustling his dream. He is prepping for his upcoming release in 2017 with the lead single and video.

One of Boi fLOYD main goals is to partner with other community and youth advocates to build a center for the creative arts in Chicago, that will cater to underserved neighborhoods. He holds to a quote from his grandmother like a personal mantra: “In order to be different, you have to be yourself” and that is exactly what he aims to do with his music. The Scud Nation artist not only wants to show a different side of his creativity but brand himself as the rose that grew from the concrete.
